Coolmore's
promising young sire Rubick added a 19th first crop winner to his
tally with an easy Ipswich victory on Friday for Leshrac.
Trained by Matthew Dunn, Leshrac was favorutie for the 1200 metre maiden and scored
by three-quarters of a length at his second run back from a spell.
Retained to race by his breeder, Leshrac is the second winner from Flying Spur
mare Fine Cuban, a half-sister to the dam of stakes-winners Havana and
Diplomatico.
Leshrac is the fourth winner this season for Rubick, who has lightly raced colt
Excess Funds contesting the Group III MRC Vain Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.
The busiest sire in 2018 when covering 263 mares, Rubick will cover another big
book at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $38,500.
