Cable Bay Given the Green Light for Australia

The Southern Hemisphere shareholders and UK partners of the promising first season sire Cable Bay, have agreed that the horse will travel to Australia for the 2019 breeding season.

Cable Bay The stallion will depart on a flight from the UK on August 15 and will arrive at Woodside Park Stud'sTylden-based farm on August 31.

Cable Bay has shuttled for the past two years to Woodside Park Stud where he has covered 219 mares with the support of shareholders including Black Caviar's breeder Rick Jamieson of Gilgai Farm, B2B Thoroughbreds' Ricky Surace and Mark Rowsthorn's Woodside Park Stud.

Cable Bay has made a strong start with his first crop juveniles recording 14 individual winners so far with four stakes horses led by one of the highest rated 2YO fillies, Liberty Beach, winner of the G3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood.

Woodside Park Stud's James Price is delighted with the outcome for shareholders and supporters of Cable Bay, "His 2019 book is full with many highly credentialed mares to be covered this season. We greatly appreciate the efforts and high level of service provided to Cable Bay while in quarantine by IRT. Australian breeders are acknowledging the ability of his juveniles in Europe so I am thrilled they have access to him this year."
