Cornerstone
Stud's Sir Prancelaot (IRE) was making news overnight at Goodwood where his classy
sprinting son Sir Dancealot won the Group II Lennox Stakes for the second year
in a row.
The David Elsworth trained gelding surged to the line to win the seven furlong
sprint by a length taking his overall record to nine wins and five placings from
31 starts.
"He won this race
last year and then went on to win the Hungerford Stakes (G2). He will probably
go back to Newbury for the Hungerford Stakes again now," said David Elsworth.
Sir Dancealot is the best of two winners from Danehill Dancer mare Majesty's
Dance, a half-sister to Group III winner Dancal.
Sir Dancealot is one of seven stakes-winners for Sir Prancealot, who stands at
Cornerstone Stud this spring at a fee of $14,300 and will have his first
Australian yearlings at sales in 2020.
