Selling
for $500,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale to James Harron Bloodstock,
two year-old Spirit of Boom colt Warfare cast off maiden status with a decisive
victory at Gosford on Thursday.
Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Warfare was second at his first two starts
at Newcastle and Kembla when he did plenty wrong and broke through with a
stylish length victory in the 1200 metre maiden as favourite.
Bred and offered for sale by Eureka Stud, Warfare is the most expensive
yearling ever sired by Spirit of Boom and is a half-brother to stakes-winner
Tiyatrolani from good producer Tiyatro, an Encosta de Lago winner from the
families of Group I winners Excites, Duporth and Delago Deluxe.
Eureka Stud sold the current yearling from Tiyatro, a colt by Brazen Beau, at
the Magic Millions this year for $230,000 to China Horse Club / Newgate Bloodstock.
Warfare is the tenth two year-old winner this season for Spirit of Boom, who
stands at a fee of $44,000.
