It's
been an amazing season for Lyndhurst Stud's exciting young sire Better Than Ready
and it got better again on Wednesday when he posted his 17th first
crop winner with a Sunshine Coast victory for talented gelding Ready to Roam.
The Tony Gollan trained youngster was placed at his first three starts
including a third in the $500,000 Aquis 2YO Jewel and was long overdue to break
through for a win.
He was tenacious inscoring a half head win in the 1000 metre dash as favourite
and has now banked over $105,000 for his lucky owners.
A $37,500 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale purchase for his
trainer from the Yarramalong Park draft, Ready to Roam is a half-brother to
stakes-placed Snipzu and is the ninth winner from terrific producer Pilgrim, a
half-sister to Group I winner Arkady.
Better Than Ready has made every post a winner this season and is the leading
Australian first season sire by winners. A brilliantly fast son of More Than
Ready (USA), he has had a fee increase for this season and stands at $33,000.
