half-brother to triple Group I winner Fawkner, well bred Street Cry (IRE)
gelding Mutrib scored his second win in South Africa on Tuesday when saluting
at Vaal.
Trained by Mike de Kock, he scored a neck win in the 1600 metre contest, his
second win from nine starts.
A $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum
from the Mill Park draft, Mutrib was bred by Mill Park in partnership and is a
half-brother to triple Group I winner and $3.8 million earner Fawkner, Group II
winner and $1.1 million earner Tanby and Group II placed Viking Star.
He is one of seven winners from seven to race from blue hen Dane Belltar, whose
current yearling, a colt by More Than Ready (USA) made $225,000 a Inglis Easter
earlier this year.
Dane Belltar is due to foal this spring
to Sebring.
Making it a winning double for Aussie breds in the next race was Big Myth (4m
Big Brown (USA) Nufoos).
