Timely Stakes Win for Intuition

Mark Smith - Saturday April 27

For a four-year-old gelding with an excellent strike rate, Intuition was given plenty of time before making his stakes debut, which came in Saturday's Listed Hawkesbury Rush (1100m) at Hawkesbury.

With Rachel King taking up where she left off before injury, Intuition speared between runners to defeat the favourite Tactical Advantage (Bel Esprit) by a short-neck with a short half head to Badajoz (Commands) in third. (image Steve Hart )

The son of Street Cry (IRE) has been in rare form coming off wins at Flemington and Kembla Grange.

The James Cummings-trained gelding advances his record to 8 wins and 2 seconds from 19 starts with earnings of $402,295.

"He's progressed lovely to make it three on the bounce, Godolphin representative Darren Beadman said.

"Full credit to Rachel for that perfect ride.

"James (Cummings) has placed him well and looked after him and his patience is paying dividends.

"There maybe something for him later on at Scone or we might have a trip away to Brisbane."

Intuition is the best of two winners for the 3-time Sydney winning Exceed And Excel mare Radar.

Godolphin parted company with Radar at the 2017 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale with Panda Bloodstock and Racing paying $70,000.

The Street Boss filly she was carrying (pictured right ) is on offer at the Melbourne VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale, which begins on Sunday.

Radar has a weanling filly by Street Boss (IRE) and was bred back to the son of Street Cry (IRE) again last spring.

Intuition becomes the 128th stakes-winner for Street Cry (IRE).
