Seven
juvenile heats at the Roshill trials on Monday morning produced some
interesting winners including a filly from the family of Australian Horse of
the Year Typhoon Tracy and a colt that has a half-sister to be offerd at the
Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on Tuesday.
A $650,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Element Hill draft for Graham and
Linda Huddy’s Peachester Lodge, the Chris Waller trained Redoute’s Choice filly
Tracy May cored a soft win for Hugh Bowman in her 900 metre heat.
The last to step away from the gates, Tracy May improved to settle midfield and
zoomed home between runners under a hold to score a very easy length win at her
second trial.
Tracy May is the second foal of Madam Tracy, a minor winning half-sister by
Encosta de lago to six time Group I winner Typhoon Tracy from Champion South African
2YO Filly Tracy’s Element.
Winning his trial for the Gerald Ryan stable was Snitzel colt Ziedrich, a
$300,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Kitchwin Hills draft for Gerald
Ryan/Stallion Racing.
Ziedrich quickly found the front and led all the way to win by more than a
length at his second trial.
He is the first foal of stakes-placed Precious Sophia, whose second foal, a filly by Hinchinbrook will be offered by Kitchwin Hills on Tuesday as Lot 190 and she is pictured below.
