One to Watch – Gosford

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 12
Proven Thoroughbreds enjoyed plenty of success with Choisir gelding Sir Moments, who won over $800,000 and they will be having more fun with this impressive maiden winner by Choisir at Gosford on Tuesday who has a sibling headed for the 2019 Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

Kylease as a yearlingTrained by Joe Pride, three year-old filly Kylease improved on her debut second at Warwick Farm last month to power clear and win the 1100 metre maiden by two lengths as a short priced favourite.

She led all the way and was never challenged in the run to the line to score easily over blue-blooded Sir Owen, the full brother to Group I winner Comin’ Through and half-brother to $7million earner Criterion.

A $60,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft for Proven Thoroughbreds/ Joe Pride Racing, Kylease was bred by Kia Ora Stud and is the first winner for unraced Lonhro mare Lalani, a half-sister to the dam of this season’s star Kiwi 3YO filly and Group II winner Imelda Mary. Lalani is from a full sister to Champion 2YO Filly Fashions Afield (dam of Group II winner and promising young sire Kiss and Make Up) from the family of Group I winner Wrap Around.

Grenville Stud will offer the current yearling from Lalani, a colt by Headwater, at the Magic Millions Tasmanian Sale as Lot 60.
