First Season Sires – Who is on Top at MM

After three sessions of the 2019 Magic Millions Yearling Sale Book One, Golden Slipper winner Vancouver has moved to the top of the first season sire averages for sires with three or more yearlings sold.

$400,000 Vancouver colt from Harlem RiverWith his sire Medaglia D'Oro (USA) riding high at this sale with a million dollar yearling and an average of $511,667, Coolmore's Vancouver has shown his class with 26 yearlings averaging $189,423 and an equal benchmark of $400,000 paid for a colt from stakes-winning Fastnet Rock mare Harlem River and a filly from Angel Bee.

Consigned by Newgate Farm, the colt from Harlem River was knocked down to Edmonds Racing/ Blue Sky Bloodstock and is the first foal of his dam.

Segenhoe Stud offered the filly from Group III place Pins mare Angel Bee that was snapped up by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

Vinery Stud's Press Statement is next on the list with six yearlings averaging $170,000 followed by Woodside Park's Rich Enuff with seven yearlings averaging $150,000.

Aquis Farm's Spill the Beans, Widden Stud's Outreach and Newgate Farm's fertility troubled Criterion all posted big individual sales from small numbers as you can see in the table below.

Stakes Horses Shine for Vancouver
