Great
day for Coolmore young gun Rubick, who sired the quinella in the opening event
at Moonee Valley and then followed up with an impressive winner at Ascot with
an easy victory for well backed favourite Rubic Rose.

Second on debut earlier this month, the Karen Kerlsey trained Rubic Rose
improved sharply to turn the tables on Beethoven, the horse who beat her at her
last start.
She was quick to lead from barrier one and strode clear to win the 1100 metre
dash by a length and a half.
Passed in as a yearling, Rubic Rose is the first winner for Kyoto, a winning
half-sister by Gonski to Group I winner Pillaging.
Rubick also had Krameric finish a close up third in the Group III BRC BJ
McLachlan Stakes at Doomben capping off a great day for the young son of
Encosta de Lago
