Zoustar gelding Zoustyle was stepping up to 1200 metres for the first time at
Doomben on Saturday in the $125,000 BRC Winning Rupert Plate and handled the
additional trip with no concern, cruising to another easy victory.
A brilliant leader in his three previous wins, the Tony Gollan trained Zoustyle
again found the front and travelled comfortably for Brad Stewart before hitting
the post a length clear of his rivals in 1:08. 55 seconds which
was a second inside the previous class record held by top class Pierro colt Pierata.
The Winning Rupert is
the first leg of the summer three-year-old triple crown which carries a
$500,000 for any horse winning three heats.
"Zoutsyle isn't a Magic Millions horse so we would look at the triple
crown," said Tony Gollan.
"Provided he pulls up well he will run in the Gold Edition Stakes (1200m on
December 15).
"From there we can see how the horse has come up and then maybe push on to
a final heat of the triple crown."
Zoustyle was retained to race by his breeders and is the second winner for
German bred Anabaa (USA) mare Fashion (Ger), a half-sister to Group III winner
Felicity, the dam of 2013 Champion German Miler Felician.
He has the overall record of four wins from four starts with prizemoney in
excess of $170,000.
Fashion has a yearling filly by Choisir and a colt foal this spring by Sebring.
Zoustar is set to play a big role at the 2019 Magic Millions where he has 51
entries.
