Onemore Emotion Quick to Reward Wehlow

Media Release - Wednesday October 17

Rockhampton-based trainer Jared Wehlow has quickly paid for his most recent gavelhouse Australia purchase Onemore Emotion  by winning almost twice his $6,000 price tag in two starts.

OnemorenomoreWehlow bought the son of Onemorenomore in August and he ran second in his first start for the stable " I'm always on the lookout for a horse that will appreciate a drop in class from a city stable and have a great bunch of owners that are always looking for another winner."

"We bought Onemore Emotion from gavelhouse.com out of the Chris Waller's yard and he's been an easy horse to do anything with and has obviously had an excellent grounding," commented Wehlow.

"We thought he would win first up, however with blinkers on first time he ran around a bit and a horse came up on his inside late and fast, just grabbing him on the line."

"Second up we removed the blinkers and he came with a sustained run down the straight to win impressively."

"I think there is still some improvement to be found as he's had just a few starts in the clockwise direction."

Having grown up on the Gold Coast, Wehlow worked for Toby Edmonds and Daryl Hansen and at the moment has 20 horses in work at his base in Rockhampton while he regularly travels up to Cairns and down to the Gold Coast to best place his horses.

The stable has celebrated 13 winners at their home-track this year plus another eight at Mckay which is a four hour drive away.

Bred by Valda Klaric, Onemore Emotion is out of the unplaced Woodman mare Love And Emotion making him a half-brother to the outstanding racemare French Emotion who won two at Group Two level and was runner up in the Gr.1 VRC Myer Classic. The daughter of Snitzel amassed almost $900,000 in earnings and was bought just months ago by Widden Stud for $850,000.

Love And Emotion is a daughter of Gr.1 AJC Oaks winner and multiple Group One placed mare My Brilliant Star with this the family of Gr.1 Toorak winner Shot Of Thunder, Gr.1 Queensland Derby winner Lachlan River and dual Group One winner Surdurka plus a host of other black type performers.

The latest gavelhouse.com Australia catalogue is online now with bidding set to close from 7pm AEDT on Monday 22 October. Off the back of over 82% clearance and a top price of $54,000 in their last sale, entries for the next fortnightly gavelhouse.com New Zealand auction are set to close at 7pm NZ time on Monday 22 October.
