Everest Field and Barrier Draw

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 9

The all-important barrier draw has been announced for the $13 million The Everest with last year;s winner Redzel coming up with gate one.

The official allocation of barriers was conducted by Racing NSW stewards on Tuesday morning with the announcement made of the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

This year will be the second running of Australia's richest race where the 12 runners are selected by the 12 slot owners who parted with $600,000 each to own a place in the race.

Godolphin galloper Home of the Brave was a late withdrawal on Tuesday afternoon due to an elevated temperature and replaced in the race by his stablemate Osbone Bulls.
