Fifth Foal for Black Caviar

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 9
Unbeaten champion Black Caviar has produced a fifth foal delivering a filly by I Am Invincible.

"At around 1am on Monday morning Black Caviar gave birth to a filly and everything is perfect," part-owner Neil Werrett told Racing.com on Monday.

"The foal is good, she is running around and drinking and she's doing it so easily.

"We were expecting a colt to be honest, there were no complications, and everyone is happy.

"The filly is a bay and she is probably the most like mum [in comparison to her other progeny], she's the largest and the leggiest.

"And Black Caviar is taking to it perfectly as she always does."

The first two foals from Black Caviar, Oscietra (f by Exceed and Excel) and Prince of Caviar (c by Sebring) are both winners, albeit of a lesser standard than their world famous mum.

The 12 year-old daughter of Bel Esprit also has a two year-old filly by Snitzel and a yearling filly by More Than Ready (USA).

She has proven to be as perfect a producer as she was a racehorse, leaving five consecutive foals in a row and as anyone that owns a broodmare will know… that's not easy to do!
