The
spectacular form reversal of ill-fated Magic Millions 2YO Classic winning sire
Unencumbered shows no sign of abating, the son of Testa Rossa siring speedy two
year-old filly Courshewill to win at Doomben on Saturday and at Tamworth on
Monday Depth That Varies won the $24,000 Romantic Dream Plate.
The first NSW country race for two year-olds, the Romantic Dream was won in
brilliant fashion by the Colin Dixon trained gelding, who raced away to win the
1000 metre scamper by more than four lengths.
Purchased for just $3,500 out of the Lustre Lodge draft at the Inglis Scone Yearling
Sale, he would surely be an early favourite for the Inglis Scone Classic 2YO
race next year.
Depth That Varies is the first winner for stakes-placed Bel Esprit mare Zellindi,
who died after producing just one foal.
He is the 16th winner this season for Unencumbered, who stood for four
seasons at Three Bridges before his premature death earlier this year.
Unencumbered is the leading second season sire by winners with four more than
Zoustar and 11 more than Spirit of Boom and his total earnings put him in
second place to Zoustar.
