The son of Spirit Of Boom sat just behind the speed throughout and ran down race favourite Bolt From The Blue late, with Beam Of Light and Media Sensation also closing well in the three-year-old 1200m event.

"He's a very nice horse and he beat a couple of nice horses today," winning rider Rowena Smyth said.

"He has got a lovely big stride on him and even today he did a few things wrong and still got away with it.

"Once we got out and got him going, he just put them away. He is happy in the trail so long as the pace is on because he is a big, free-striding horse." - NZ RAcing Desk
