New Stakes-Winner for Fairway Thoroughbreds

Tara Madgwick - Sunday September 9
A bold front running winner of the Listed SAJC Morphettville Guineas on Saturday, Exceed and Excel filly Fiera Vista may never soar to the heights of other Fairway Thoroughbreds bred superstars such as Winx and Vancouver, but she is now a stakes-winner and carries the colours of her breeder John Camilleri.

Exceed and ExcelThe Darren Weir trained filly had fitness on her side with three runs under her belt and led for most of the 1600 metre contest before powering away to win by three lengths.

It was her second win from just five starts making her the 149thstakes-winner for champion Darley based sire Exceed and Excel.

Foaled and raised at Segenhoe for Fairway Thoroughbreds, Fiera Vista is a half-sister to Group II winner Empress Rock and is from Empress Jade, a half-sister by Encosta de Lago to world champion sprinter Silent Witness and Group II winner Sister Madly.

Exceed and Excel stands at Darley this spring at a fee of $82,500.
