Turning 20 this year, Darley’s champion sire Exceed and Excel has just finished a super successful Magic Millions Sale that saw him with 24 yearlings average $398,542 to be the third leading sire by average and in South Africa on Saturday he posted a 15th Group I winner.
Irish bred mare Queen Supreme took out the Group I Cartier Paddock Stakes over 1800 metres at Kenilworth for the Mike de Kock stable, cruising clear to win by two and a half lengths.
Already a Group III winner, four year old Queen Supreme has the overall record of five wins from seven starts.
She is a half-sister to stakes-winners Call Me Handsome and Be Ready being the best of six winners from Gone West mare Call Later, a half-sister to Group I winner Ventura.
Queen Supreme was bought from the Goffs Orby Sale in 2017 by Form Bloodstock/ Mayfair Speculators for 130,000 euros.
