One to Watch- Newcastle

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday September 4
Kris Lees has a crackerjack team of three year-olds this spring and unleashed another stakes prospect at Newcastle on Tuesday with a scintillating debut win for a three year-old daughter of global sire sensation Frankel.

Frankel

A homebred for Bruce Neill's Cressfield, Frankely Awesome was easy in the market but could not have been more impressive when racing away for an easy three length win in the 1300 metre maiden.

A big filly, she was allowed to find her feet by Corey Brown and settled at the rear before finding her way to the outside before turning for home. The widest runner coming down the straight she lengthened stride impressively and raced away to win eased down with ears pricked.

Even 'Blind Freddy' to see that this filly has something special!

She is the first foal of stakes-winning Street Cry mare Street Secret (USA), who comes from the family of legendary champion racemare and blue hen Urban Sea, the dam of champion sires Galileo and Seat the Stars.

Cressfield sold Street Secret in foal to Snitzel at the 2017 Inglis Chairman's Sale for $680,000 to Paul Moroney Bloodstock on behalf of Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock. She produced a filly for them last spring and then missed to Criterion.

Frankel has some lovely three year-olds in Australia with Frankely Awesome his third winner this season joining Miss Fabulass and Farooq.
