High Chaparral 3YO Added to Goffs Goodwood Sale

Media Release - Tuesday July 24

The Hugo Palmer trained 3YO Curiosity is the latest Horse-in-Training added to the Goffs UK Goodwood Sale, which will be held at the 'Glorious' Qatar Goodwood Festival after racing on Wednesday 1 August, with more high-end entries to be announced over the coming days.

CuriositySirecam conformational footage & race replays are online and can be viewed here.

Trained by Hugo Palmer, the lightly raced son of High Chaparral was a dual winning 2YO last year and this season at three has placed second in all three of his starts to date including a very competitive Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot where he was a late finishing second. The racing Post commented that "he came through from off the pace to do best of the rest, and it was a highly creditable effort as the race didn't set up for the closers."

Curiosity's most recent start came last week at the Newmarket July Cup Festival in the Bet365 Mile Handicap where he also finished second, taking his official BHA Flat rating to 99. He also has a provisional Hong Kong rating of 78 (as of 15/7/18). Curiosity is out of the Green Desert mare Precautionary who is a half-sister to the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes winner PROHIBIT.

All veterinary examinations/reports are available on request by contacting Goffs UK on +44 (0)1450 372222 or emailing winners@goffsuk.com.

Current Goodwood Sale entries include:

· Belle Vale (5YO M by Cape Cross), offered in foal to Bobby's Kitten with a Brazen Beau colt foal at foot and a half-sister to the Listed winner MILDENBERGER who placed second in this season's Gr.2 Dante Stakes behind Roaring Lion.

· Cosmelli (5YO G by Mr Vegas), winner of five of his career starts including the two-mile Northumberland Vase Handicap on his last start. Offered with an entry in York's £500,000 Sky Bet Ebor Handicap.

· Learned Friend (11YO M by Seeking The Gold), dam of the current triple Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 placed 4YO INNS OF COURT and offered in foal to Dark Angel.
