Sir Prancealot 2YO Wins Big at Newbury

Media Release - Monday July 23

Sir Prancealot's exciting filly Ginger Nut proved too strong at Newbury on Saturday when she finished with gusto to win the £250,000 Super Sprint for 2yo's.

Sir PrancealotHidden away for the majority of the race, jockey Harry Bently unleashed the daughter of Sir Prancealot approaching the furlong pole. Within a flash Ginger Nut had picked up in impressive fashion and moved through the big field to find herself a neck clear at the line.

Trainer Richard Hannon targeted the Super Sprint very early with this filly as he always held her in high regard.

Hannon said "From the moment we purchased her she didn't have an owner, but (owners) Chris and Jenny Powell came in and I said this filly would be ideal for the Super Sprint."

"They are good investors and that is what this race is all about, they have got their pay day. She is a very fast filly and it has all gone well."

The progeny of Sir Prancealot continue to impress in the Northern Hemisphere with the likes of Sir Dancealot winning the Criterion Stakes at Newmarket recently and Madam Dancealot and Beau Recall winning Gr.2 races on turf in the USA.

Sir Prancealot stands at Cornerstone Stud in 2018 for an advertised fee of $14,300 Inc. GST.
