The
juvenile fillies maiden over 1200 metres at Pakenham on Tuesday features the
most expensive yearling from the last crop of outstanding sire High Chaparral
(IRE).
Prepared by Tony McEvoy for Sheikh Mohammed Bin
Khalifa Al Maktoum, El Estoora was purchased for $800,000 from the
Cambridge Stud draft at the 2017 NZB Premier Yearling Sale.
She is the most expensive filly by High Chaparral sold in the Southern
Hemisphere as a yearling and it’s interesting to note that the next two highest
priced fillies by this sire are Group I winner Fenway ($700,000 Inglis Easter)
and Group II winner Omei Sword ($675,000 Inglis Easter), who made $1.7 million
at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale this year.
The fourth highest priced High Chaparral filly is Group II winner Forever Loved,
who was a $650,000 NZB Premier purchase and is a full sister to El Estoora.
A seriously good High Chaparral filly is often worth the money it would seem!
El Estoora will seek to keep the record perfect for her stakes-winning dam Diamond
Like, who has had five foals to race all winners.
From the iconic Eight Carat (GB) family made famous by Cambridge Stud, El
Estoora has Group I winners Tristalove and Diamond Lover as her second and
third dams.
