Ironmere Broodmare Farm Close to Leading Victorian Stallions

Media Release - Sunday June 17
Ironmere Broodmare Farm is located on rolling hills with productive creek flats and fronting Lake Eppalock - it is a boutique farm which specialises in breeding and raising winners of the future.

Ironmere Broodmare FarmCentrally located within an hour to all major Victorian studs the farm boasts high conception rates and offers the optimum environment for your broodmares and foals to flourish and grow strong.

Ironmere specialises in providing breeding services to the thoroughbred industry including year round broodmare care, foaling down, reproductive vet services, stud walk ins, individual nutrition programs, weaning, specialised farrier services and branding.

"We purchased the property about six years ago, and set about improving the pasture, developing the farms infrastructure and purchasing a few mares," said Justin Mintoff.

"The property is terrifically positioned in close proximity [within an hour] to all major Victorian studs and Inglis at Oaklands."

Melbourne airport is just over an hour away and provides interstate owners the opportunity to fly in and stay in nearby Heathcote, visit a few of the world renowned shiraz producing wineries and also spend some quality time on the farm with their mares and foals, watch them graze, play and all leave with a smile on their face.

Victoria not only has a quality stallion roster but also highly skilled people involved at all facets of the industry. Whether it's the Golden slipper or the Melbourne cup or any race in between, breeders and owners can find a stallion in Victoria to suit.

"The current team is passionate and devoted, together we provide a great service for our clients, my background has provided the skills to manage a property with varying classes of animals, to provide efficiencies without compromising on quality and service, I have always had an incredibly strong passion for animals and in particular breeding and raising their young," Mintoff added.

"Caring for and raising numerous young animals of many different breeds and varieties from a very young age has given me the skills to raise robust and thriving foals. You never get another chance to redo the management and raising of the mare and foal again and I know how vitally important these stages are to producing race capable athletes."

The impact of the environment and nutrition program for each class of equine cannot be understated. Our focus at Ironmere in these areas has provided early success with our first foals to have left the farm all hitting the track and winning, we are excited as the next crop of foals has reached racing age which we are optimistic they will continue on in a winning way for all involved.
