Scat
Daddy's brilliant son No Nay Never (USA) added a new winner to his tally with
an impressive victory overnight at Leopardstown for two year-old colt Parkers Hill.
The Johnnny Murtagh trained colt improved on his debut fourth last month to score
a neck win in the six furlong maiden.
"Parkers Hill liked the better ground. He's a nice big horse and very
straightforward, he pleases in what he does and hopefully he's on an upward
curve," said Johnny Murtagh.
Bought at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 50,000 guineas by MV Magnier,
Parkers Hill runs for Paul Smith.
Bred by Airlie Stud, Parkers Hill is the third winner from Australian bred
Fantastic Light mare Chiarezza, a half-sister to stakes-winner Silvestris.
Chiarezza had one foal in Australia before being exported to Ireland.
Now the sire of six first crop winners in the Northern Hemisphere, No Nay Never
will be on his third trip to Australia this spring for Coolmore and had weanlings
sell for up to $90,000 at the Magic Millions National Sale.
Coolmore will also offer Scat Daddy's charismatic son Caravaggio (USA). A
lightning fast dark grey powerhouse of a sprinter, Caravaggio starred at Royal
Ascot two years running winning the Group II Coventry Stakes at two and then
the Group I Commonwealth Cup at three.
No Nay Never stands at a fee of $19,250, while Caravaggio is priced at
$33,000.
