One to Watch – Ballarat

Tara Madgwick - Friday June 8
Hinchinbrook has had a great season with his juveniles and added an 11th two year-old winner to his tally at Ballarat on Thursday carrying the colours of Peter Moody.

HinchinbrookTrained by David Brideoake, Kings Brook was unlucky when unplaced on debut at Sandown last month, but bounced back to score an easy win.

Allowed to find her feet early in the 1200 metre maiden by Luke Nolen, she accelerated nicely down the straight to dash clear and win by two and a quarter lengths.

Kings Brook was a $105,000 Inglis Easter Session II purchase for Moody Racing from the Wattle Grove Stud draft and runs for Peter Moody in partnership with Dr Gene Tsoi.

She is the second winner from Commands mare Ordinance, a sibling to Group placed sprinters Exclaim’n’exclude and Fantene.

A three-quarter brother to champion sire Snitzel, Yarraman Park’s Hinchinbrook has enjoyed a great season highlighted by the success of his star 2YO filly Seabrook, winner of the Group I ATC Champagne Stakes.

Seabrook is one of five Australian stakes-winners this season for Hinchinbrook, who also has stakes-winning Hong Kong sprinter Beat the Clock.

Hinchinbrook stands this spring at a fee of $55,000.
