First Dundeel Winner in South Africa

High Chaparral's champion son Dundeel sired his first winner in South Africa on Saturday with a Turffontein victory for two year-old colt Atyaab.

Atyaab as a yearlingTrained by Mike de Kock, he improved on a debut third to win by a length over 1600 metres as favourite.

A $260,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell from the Arrowfield Stud draft, Atyaab is a half-brother to stakes-winner Vesper and is the fifth winner from Group II winner Sylvaner.

He is the third winner for Dundeel, who stands at Arrowfield this spring at a fee of $27,500.
