Blue Gum Farm are pleased to announce the service fees for our stallions for the 2018 breeding season.
MANHATTAN RAIN (2005 by Encosta De Lago ex Shantha's Choice by Canny Lad)
He boasts a pedigree second to none and on the racetrack was a G1 winner at two, before beating all but So You Think in the 2009 Cox Plate. His Golden Slipper winning daughter She Will Reign trained on at three this season to win the G1 Moir Stakes. With five crops of racing age, his progeny have now earned over $13 million. He was enormously popular last season serving his biggest book to date in his first year in Victoria. His yearlings sold to $150,000 in 2018.
2018 Fee: $19,250
TURFFONTEIN (2004 by Johannesburg ex Spirit Of Grace by Dr Grace)
A winner at two in Sydney, he improved every racing season and was a multiple group one winner at five. Like him, his progeny can win early and race on successfully year after year. He has enjoyed another stellar season in 2017-18 headed by two new group winners, Lyuba in the G3 Skip Sprint at the Melbourne Cup carnival and Victoria's most progressive horse Widgee Turf, recent winner of the G3 Victoria Hcp at Caulfield. His progeny earnings have now topped $8 million, with his yearlings selling to $95,000 in 2018.
2018 Fee: $8,800
WAR (2010 by More Than Ready ex Deedra by Zabeel)
Winner of the G3 Up and Coming Stakes from just four starts, he has the looks one would expect of a $500,000 Easter yearling. By one of the all time best shuttle stallions, he is a half-brother to G1 winner Fenway and three-quarter relation to champion mare More Joyous. His first two runners Des Moines and First Strike have been placed at Caulfield and run fourth at Ascot respectively, while Shadow Bridge, which made $420,000 at a ready-to-run sale last year, won a recent Sydney trial impressively and looks a coming winner. His yearlings sold to $150,000 in 2018.
2018 Fee: $6,600
GLASS HARMONIUM (IRE) (2006 by Verglas ex Spring Symphony by Darshaan)
He is a magnificent looker and had the ability to match. A winner at two and group winner in the UK, he blossomed in Australia winning at G1 level, earning a career total of over $1.5m. His sire had two highly successful seasons in WA and was leading Australian sire by AEI in 2011-12. He has had one winner from just three runners so far from his first crop, while the Robbie Griffiths trained, stakes-placed Grand Symphony and placegetter Miss Harmonium are among four runners to date from his second crop. His yearlings sold to $60,000 in 2018 and at the VOBIS Gold Sale, he was leading sire by average for three or more lots sold.
2018 Fee: $5,500
