2018 Stallion Roster

MORE THAN READY (USA)

Hot on the heels of his mare Anatola smashing the 1200m Randwick track record on Saturday, Vinery announced her record breaking sire More Than Ready will return for the 2018 season. More Than Ready is already amongst the all-time great sitting in the Top 5 Stakes producing stallions with 183 stakes winners. Sire of Golden Slipper, Blue Diamond, Magic Millions winners, Group 1 classic colts and fillies and champions like More Joyous.

Now a leading sire of sires and broodmare sire, More Than Ready remains a go-to sire for yearling buyers. He averaged $282,000 at the 2018 Inglis Easter Sale and will stand at a competitive $66,000 fee again this year.

ALL TOO HARD

Champion Australian 3yo Colt who has sired more individual winners in Australia (50) than any other second-season stallion this season. He's on a roll with 6 new stakes-horses in the last month and has already uncovered a Gr.1 colt in his second crop in Outrageous.

All Too Hard's 3rd crop yearlings sold to $500,000 at the 2018 Inglis Easter Sale and his Sandown Guineas Gr.2 winner Villermont can claim more black-type in the Gunsynd Classic Gr.3 at Doomben this Saturday.

STAR TURN

Second-season at stud after proving extremely popular in his first year covering a full book of mares. Bred for speed, by Star Witness out of 5 times Stakes winning mare Golden Delicious.

Star Turn won at Randwick as an October 2yo and returned the following season to defeat Golden Slipper winner Capitalist in the San Domenico Stakes Gr.3. Sent to Melbourne, he showed another brilliant burst of acceleration to defeat older horses at weight-for-age in the Schillaci Stakes Gr.2 and signed off by consistently placing amongst the older sprinters in the Lightning S, William Reid S and Newmarket Hcp Gr.1.

His fee stays at $22,000 after retiring to stud as one of Australia's highest-rated 3yo sprinting colts (Timeform 124).

HEADWATER

Extremely well supported at Vinery in 2016 & 2017, Headwater's first foals are creating a buzz with breeders. A stakes-winning 2yo and 3yo by Exceed and Excel, he topped all the first-crop stallions at the Inglis Easter Weanling Sale with a colt knocked down to agent Andrew Williams for $75,000.

"I'm pro Headwater as a stallion prospect," Williams said at Riverside Stables last week. "I liked Headwater at the Vinery parades and his foals were some of the best I saw in the Hunter Valley last year."

PRESS STATEMENT

Hinchinbrook's best and the only colt of his generation to win at Group 1 level as a 2yo and 3yo. Trainer Chris Waller rated him a superstar and a better 2yo than either Zoustar & Brazen Beau.

A magnificent looking stallion, Press Statement showcases 19 of his first-crop foals at the Magic Millions National Sale starting on May 24.

CASINO PRINCE

Prolific winner-getter and primed for another century of individual winners in 2017-18. He's currently a Top 10 sire with 91 winners in Australia this season and his record of 104 is well within sight.

Bearing down on another milestone with the winners of 997 races to date, Casino Prince maintains an extraordinary 68% winning strike-rate (>6% black type) making him one of the value stallions in the Hunter Valley at $9,900.

PLUCK (USA)

More Than Ready's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner with stakes performers Life On The Wire, Mongolian Wolf, Aspect, Gasoline and Lucky Louie in his first two crops.

Backing that black-type with numerous city-winning, sprinter-milers plus overseas winners Winwin Ruby, Jade Theatre (Hong Kong) and Knysna Rose, Aussie Austin, Moon Shadow (South Africa). An Australian based sire with global success.=
