Arrowfield Stud
today announced the service fees for the Stud's 2018 roster headed by dominant
Champion Sire Snitzel, with Group-winning 2YO & 3YO Pariah joining the
Stud's powerful line-up of Redoute's Choice sons.
After a record-breaking performance to win the General, 2YO & 3YO Sires'
Premierships in 2016/17, Snitzel is setting new Australian benchmarks again
this season with $26 million prizemoney and 25 stakeswinners, including Group 1
winners Trapeze Artist, Redzel, Russian Revolution and Golden Slipper winner
Estijaab.
Demand for Snitzel's yearlings has risen accordingly, resulting in ten $1
million-plus yearlings this season, and a 2018 major sale average of just over
$500,000.
Snitzel's 2018 fee has been set at $220,000 inc. GST.
Pariah (Redoute's Choice-Secluded by Hussonet) will join his sire's dynasty at
Arrowfield as a dual Group winner, Blue Diamond S. G1 runner-up and the second
top-rated 2YO colt of his year. His fee is $22,000 inc. GST.
James Harron, who bought Pariah as a yearling and managed his racing career,
says, "Our mission at the yearling sales is find stallions of the future, and
Pariah's profile was impeccable.
"Physically he was a truly outstanding yearling, by the pre-eminent sire of sires
in Redoute's Choice and from an exceptional colonial speed family. He fits all
of our criteria as a hugely exciting stallion prospect and we will be
supporting him heavily at stud with top-class mares."
Arrowfield's Chairman John Messara says,
"Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt and Beneteau – all by Redoute's Choice, all
outstanding 2YOs and all outstanding sires. Pariah is in the same mould and we
are excited to stand him."
Group 1 winner Shamal Wind and Group winners Petits Filous, Real Stolle and
Scarlet Rain are among the 60 mares that have already been committed to
Pariah's first book by his strong shareholder group.
Redoute's Choice himself will be available to a
strictly limited book of mares at $137,500 inc. GST. The three-time Champion
Sire is an asset anywhere he appears in a pedigree, as the sire of 32 Group 1
winners, 76 million-dollar yearlings and ten Group 1-siring sons, and damsire
of 70 stakeswinners, including this season's Classic-winning colts Ace High,
D'Argento, Kementari and Levendi.
The superbly consistent leading sire Not A Single Doubt's fee has been set at
$99,000 inc. GST. His 14 stakeswinners this season, among them Caulfield
Guineas G1 winner Mighty Boss, are close to a career-best tally. Breeders
continue to be well-rewarded for their Not a Single Doubt yearlings, which have
achieved a major sale average of almost $300,000 over the past two years, and
sold up to $1.05 million this year.
Classic and weight-for-age champion Dundeel has already thrown Group 3 winner
Irukandji from his first crop of 2YOs, and his second-crop yearlings have sold
up to $500,000. His fee is unchanged at $27,500 inc. GST.
Buyers have clearly liked the first yearlings by Champion sprinter-miler
Olympic Glory, paying an average of six times his fee for them, with $600,000
and $400,000 paid for his top-priced colt and filly. His 2018 fee is $16,500
inc. GST.
Deep Impact's top-class son Real Impact will stand his third season at an
unchanged fee of $19,250 inc. GST. Dual Group winner Scissor Kick stands
again at $16,500 inc. GST. Both stallions have left very attractive first
foals and their first Australian yearlings will be offered at 2019 sales.
Fees for the three international champions Arrowfield launched last year are
all unchanged: Japan's Horse of the Year Maurice ($33,000 inc. GST) and
Champion Sprinter-Miler Mikki Isle ($13,750 inc. GST), and European 2YO
sprinting star Shalaa ($33,000 inc. GST).
