Doomben Stakes Double for I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 22
I Am Invincible posted a stakes double at Doomben on Saturday with speedy three year-old Whypeeo taking out the Listed BRC Invader at Aquis Mick Dittman Plate, while classy mare With a Promise captured the Listed BRC Tails Stakes.

Whypeeo as a yearlingFresh and ready to fire at his first run back from a spell, the Toby Edmonds trained Whypeeo flew over the heavy ground to win the 1050 metre dash by more than four lengths, prompting his trainer to speculate on a possible run in the Group I BRC Doomben 10,000 on May 12..

Also a stakes-winner at Doomben in December, Whypeeo looks set for a good campaign and has the impressive strike rate of five wins from nine starts with prizemoney in excess of $300,000.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for Blue Sky Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park draft, Whypeeo is a half-brother to Group II winner Meliora and is the sixth winner from six to race from terrific producer Sunset Boulevard.

A stakes-winner at the Gold Coast last year, the Ben Currie trained With a Promise relished the heavy conditions to race up on the pace and score a half neck win in the Tails Stakes over 1600 metres.

A modest $26,000 Magic Millions purchase for Boomer Bloodstock from the Corumbene Stud draft, With a Promise runs for Mishani Enterprises and has won eight of 22 starts earning over $300,000 in prizemoney.

With a Promise is the best of two winners from Danrese, a metro winning Hurricane Sky half-sister to stakes-winner Vignor.

Whypeeo and With a Promise are among a list of 18 individual stakes-winners in Australia this season for I Am Invincible, who is second on the Australian General Sires list by earnings, winners and stakes-winners.
