Aquis Stakes Success as Buyer and Seller

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 16
Aquis have made a big impression in every area of the Australian bloodstock market and featured on Saturday not only as the buyer of smart Adelaide two year-old stakes-winner Fundamentalist, but also as the vendor of the other stakes-winner on the Morphettville program in Spring Choice.

Prepared by the Hayes / Dabernig training partnership, well-supported Not a Single Doubt filly Fundamentalist came from the tail of the field with a barnstorming finish to take out the Listed SAJC Dequetteville Stakes (1050m) by a length.

Divine Prophet covered the dam of Fundamentalist last springFundamentalist was making her third start. She was second at Bendigo over 1100 metres when on debut back on December 12. Sent for a spell she made a winning return to the track when breaking her maiden at Mornington on April 1.

Fundamentalist was a $135,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase for Aquis/ Blue Sky Bloodstock from the Holbrook Thoroughbreds draft and runs for Aquis and partners.

She is the third foal and first winner for the Keep The Faith mare Centafaith who is a half-sister to six winners including the stakes-placed Centagon.

A daughter of the stakes-winning mare Centaleigh, Centafaith was covered by Aquis based Divine Prophet last spring, yet another reason to celebrate the stakes win of Fundamentalist!

Progressive Choisir gelding Spring Choice is building an impressive record for the Leon and Troy Corstens stable stepping up to stakes class at Morphettville on Saturday to win the Listed SAJC Port Adelaide Guineas.

With wins at Geelong and Mornington at his two previous starts, Spring Choice kept the winning roll intact when taking the 1800 metre feature by three-quarters of a length.
