New Stakes-Winner for Hinchinbrook

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 15
On a day when the Chris Waller stable won three Group I races at Randwick, the success continued interstate with Yarraman Park bred and sold Hinchinbrook filly Improvise winning the Listed Princess Stakes at the Sunshine Coast.

Seventh in the Group II VRC Wakeful Stakes last spring when first tried in stakes company, Improvise was subsequently spelled and with three runs under her belt was fit and ready to fire for her return to Black Type racing.

Improvise as a yearlingShe travelled behind the leaders in fifth place and found the line well to win the 1600 metre feature by a short neck.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Yarraman Park draft, Improvise runs for a big group of stable clients and has the overall record of two wins and two placings from nine starts with prizemoney in excess of $120,000.

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman, Improvise is a half-sister to stakes-placed Princeton Miss and is the best of three winners from Group III placed O'Reilly mare Karalee.

She is the 14th stakes-winner for Hinchinbrook, who enjoyed plenty of success at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this week averaging $207,857.
