Racing history will be re-written at Rockhampton on Saturday if the Jamie McConachy trained 2YO Brook's Pleasure can win the Capricornia Yearling Sale Classic 2YO Plate.
The Hinchinbrook filly stands to collect a $100,000 bonus cheque offered by Aquis Farm to graduates of their 2017 Capricornia Yearling Sale draft.
A win in the 2YO Classic would see the filly win the richest-ever purse in Rockhampton racing history in what would be a great boost for the local Queensland racing and breeding industries.
Purchased by Diceridge Pty Ltd for $24,000 at last year's Capricornia Yearling Sale, Brook's Pleasure made a big impression on debut when racing away with a 7.5 length victory at Rockhampton over 1100m in February.
Finishing third at the same track on her next start behind the Spirit of Boom filly Legal Ties, Brook's Pleasure looks a real danger going into Saturday's race and gives her lucky group of owners an opportunity to make racing history.
Should Brook's Pleasure win the 2YO Classic, her name will join an honour roll that includes the Group One Stradbroke Handicap winner River Lad, however she will be the first winner of the race to pick up the $100,000 Aquis Farm bonus in a race that is already worth over $60,000 to the winner.
