Media Sensation made her own headline at Avondale on Friday with a dashing debut win.
The speedy daughter of I Am Invincible crossed from her wide gate to lead under jockey Mark Du Plessis and they coasted away for a perfect result in the New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance Pearl Series Race (1200m).
"In her first trial win we let her run along and in the second she sat in behind them so we had the bases covered," said Peter Williams, who trains the two-year-old with his wife Dawn.
"She got a bit hot today, but with a race under her belt she'll settle down."
The stable has known for some time of the talent Media Sensation possesses.
"She's always showed a fair bit of ability and we had her ready to race at Christmas time, but she went shin sore," Williams said.
"She was pretty impressive today and whatever she does at two, she'll be better as a three-year-old."
Out of a half-sister to the dual Group One winner Dorabella, Media Sensation was purchased out of Lime Country Thoroughbreds' Premier Sale draft at Karaka last year for $425,000 by Ger Beemsterboer and Sarah Green.
She is continuing the successful association the owners have enjoyed with the Williams stable, the Gr.1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas (1600m) winner Planet Rock their best representative so far. – NZ Racing Desk.
