The most expensive yearling sold by Torryburn Stud at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale was a lovely Exceed and Excel filly from Group I winner Dixie Blossoms that caught the eye of Godolphin and was secured for $900,000.
James Cummings has been patient with Crepe Myrtle, who made her debut in November with a midfield finish at Canterbury before going down by a head earlier this month at Randwick.
She picked the right race in which to break her maiden with Zac Lloyd steering her to a head win in the 1200m three year-old maiden which erned her a valuable $100,000 Inglis Xtra bonus for her effort.
Bred by Alan Osburg and foaled and raised at Torrybusn stud, Crepe Myrtle is the second foal and first winner from quality Street Sense (USA) mare Dixie Blossoms, who won the Group I ATC Coolmore Classic with multiple other Group wins and placings and $1.5million in prizemoney.
She has no yearling for the 2025 sales, but produced a filly by I Am Invincible this year and is now in foal to Dundeel.
