Atishu is a triple G1 winner by Savabeel - image Grant Courtney

Fresh from a week where the Waikato Stud heavyweight sired two Group I winners in Atishu (VRC Empire Rose Stakes) and Savaglee (NZ 2000 Guineas), Savabeel is poised to make an impact with 10 colts and geldings set to tempt buyers.

The quickest of them clocking 10.19 seconds to be one of the fastest of the whole sale is Lot 4, a gelding from Imadreamer offered by Riversley Park for Little Avondale Stud.

He is the second foal of unraced Per Incanto (USA) mare Imadreamer, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to multiple Group winning $4.3million earner Lost and Running.

Another eye-catcher is Lot 188 from Prima Park, a colt from unraced Pins mare Sorellina, a full sister to Champion NZ 3YO Filly Katie Lee and half-sister to Champion NZ 2YO Banchee with the family also producing dual G1 winner Gee I Jane.

Lot 188 - Savabeel colt from Sorellina is from the iconic Miss Distinction family.

He is bred on the renowned Savabeel x Pins nick that has produced 78% winners to runners and 19 SW’s, five of them G1 winners headed by $12million earner I Wish I Win.

Lot 244 from Waikato Stud is another gelding bred the same way being from Pins mare West Wind, a full sister to G3 winner Whistling Dixie.

He is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to SW Atmosphere, who was also G1 placed in Hong Kong.

Lot 237 from Trelawney Stud is a colt from Vinevale that is bred on a well tested nick that has even better stats than the two previous lots !

This colt is from a winning half-sister by Flying Spur to G3 winner Purple Sector from the family of G1 winner Hill of Grace. The Savabeel x Flying Spur nick has 100% success with 25 winners from 25 runners and five SW’s headed by G1 winners Shillelagh and The Chosen One, so 20% SW to runner!

The 2024 edition of the Ready to Run Sale will take place at the Karaka Sales Centre from 11am (NZT) on 20 & 21 November. Click to see the full catalogue.
