Smart Missile's Briasa off to The Hunter

Mark Smith - Wednesday October 30

The Smart Missile gelding Briasa earned his chance in the $1,000,000 The Hunter at Newcastle on November 16 following a bloodless three-length win in Wednesday's Ranvet (Bm88) (1250m) at Randwick-Kensington.

Ridden by Tyler Schiller for Michael Wayne and John Hawkes, Briasa tracked the leader Snapback, who put up the white flag at the 200m as Briasa strolled to a three-and-a-quarter length win over Inhibitions (Zoustar) with Dream Hour (Dawn Approach) back in third.

Briasa won his first four starts before finishing fourth to Ostraka at Randwick at his most recent start.
