Quality I Am Invincible colt Anode has shown glimpses of brilliance in his career to date, but he needs a good track to show his best and he got it at Rosehill to claim his first Black Type win in the $500,000 Listed ATC Tapp Craig (1400m).
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Anode was a close first up second to Traffic Warden in the Group II ATC Run to the Rose and then faded on the soft track in the Group I ATC Golden Rose to finish unplaced.
Back on top of the ground and given a bold ride by Tim Clark, Anode led for home and was too strong in winning by a head over strong finishing Justify (USA) colt Just Party.

“We always thought he could get further so we’ll look to take him to the mile and go to the Callander- Presnell ($1million)in a couple of weeks.”
Anode was passed in at Magic Millions and retained by Evergreen Rich and is a half-brother to Singapore Derby winner Han Xin from the family of champion sire Fastnet Rock. He has the overall record of two wins and four placings from nine starts with prizemoney topping $600,000.
He is the sixth winner from eight to race from Mysterious Light, a metro winning Fantastic Light (USA) mare from stakes-placed Cirque du Soleil, who is a sister to Fastnet Rock with Group II winner Lightsaber also on the page.
Mysterious Light has a yearling colt by Zoustar, but no foal this year after not being covered in 2023.
Anode is the 110th stakes-winner for champion sire I Am Invincible.
