Blueblood Invincible 3YO Quinella

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday August 28

The Benchmark 64 event over 1200m at Canterbury on Wednesday featured a couple of blueblood three year-olds by I Am Invincible that were both retained to race by their breeder and it was the filly Seascape getting in the bob over the colt Maori Chief with both horses sure to progress to better wins.

The Michael Freedman trained Seascape won brilliantly on debut at Gosford in April, but then disappointed at her next start before spelling and was having her second run back in this assignment.

Seascape got to the front with a furlong to run for Tommy Berry and then had to dig deep to hold off the challenge of Maori Chief, who had a big lunge at the line to just miss at his second start. Trained by Chris Waller, Maori Chief was also second on debut to quality filly Bauhinia at Newcastle and this homebred for Go Bloodstock will be tough to beat wherever he heads next.
