Everest winner Yes Yes Yes put his first winner on the board for a new season when the Lindsay Park trained three year-old Si Si Milano cruised clear to win at Pakenham on Monday.
A short priced favourite for the 1200m maiden following a good debut fourth at the same venue last month, Si Si Milano ran right up to expectation when he forged clear under Blake Shinn to win by nearly two lengths.
“I needed to get him out of the barriers better than he did on debut, which he did today and then took up a closer position giving himself a much better chance to win the race,” said Shinn.
“He did the job nicely at his second start and is still learning so he has plenty of upside.”
A $50,000 Magic Millions purchase from Middlebrook Valley Lodge for Lindsay Park Racing, Si Si Milano is the first winner for placed Snitzel mare Milanese Girl, a full sister to Group III winner Sure Knee from the family of influential sire Northern Meteor.
Si Si Milano is the fourth first crop winner for Yes Yes Yes, who is also the sire of five stakes-placed horses.
Yes Yes Yes stands at a fee of $19,250 at Coolmore this spring.
