First Stakes-Winner for Earthlight

A dual Group I winning juvenile by Shamardal, Earthlight (IRE) shuttled to Darley Australia for three seasons and will have his first Australian runners next season and he featured overnight in France with his first stakes-winner when two year-old filly Daylight won the Group III Prix Cabourg (1200m) at Deauville.

Trained by Patrice Cottier, Daylight won on debut at Chantilly in May and then ran third in a Group III event before this ground breaking win. Ridden by Mickael Barzalona, Daylight surged clear to win by two and a half lengths.

euro;85,000 purchase from the Deauville August Yearling Sale, Daylight is the second winner from stakes-winning Silver Frost mare Latita.

She is the first stakes-winner among seven first crop winners for Earthlight, who is not shuttling to Australia this spring after standing his NH season at Kildangan Stud for Darley in Ireland this year at a fee of €15,000.

Earthlight has sired his first SW.

Earthlight had 28 yearlings sell in Australia this year at an average $71,607 with his top sellers below.
