Currently making a one-act affair as leading French First Season Sire, Cambridge Stud shuttler Hello Youmzain (FR) is off the mark in the southern hemisphere with Hello Romeo in the Avis Bendigo Hcp (1000m) at Bendigo.
Ridden by Koby Jennings for Ben, Will, and JD Hayes, Hello Romeo led home a first-season sire trifecta, defeating his stablemate, the Dirty Work filly Mrs Iglesia, by a length and three-quarters, with the Hanseatic filly Tiz Worthy three-quarters of a length back in third.
It was the second start for Hello Romeo who was a close-up second over 1000m at Bendigo on October 19.
“He stepped a half-length slow but was able to muster and dictate. He gave a good kick and was strong through the line. It was good to see him win at his second start.
&
uo;He is the first winner for Hello Youmzain, who is throwing really nice types, and we loved them at Karaka.
“He won impressively and there are a lot of options for him. Whether we press on if he pulls up well or put him away and bring him back in the autumn. All decisions have to be made with the brothers.”
A $150,000 purchase for Lindsay Park Racing from the Hallmark Stud draft at 2024 NZB Karaka Book 1, Hello Romeo is the first foal of the unraced Shooting To Win mare Julieta.
Julieta is a half-sister to triple Group 1 winner Humidor (Teofilo) and to the dam of stakes-winner Cyber Attack (Shamexpress) and stakes-placed On The Lead (I Am Invincible) who separated Wild Ruler and Doubtland in the Group II Roman Consul Stakes.
The Royal Ascot Diamond Jubilee Stakes and Haydock Sprint Cup winner, Hello Youmzain, has made an exciting start to his career in the northern hemisphere.
The son of Kodiac has 18 winners led by the Group III Prix des Chenes winner and Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère third Misunderstood, and the Group III Prix Eclipse winner and Group II Royal Ascot Coventry Stakes runner-up, Electrolyte.
Hello Youmzain (FR) stands at Cambridge Stud for NZ$30,000.
