Returning to Darley Victoria this spring, Blue Point (IRE) sired his first two year-old stakes-winner this year in the Northern Hemisphere when Tiego the First took out the Listed Prix Roland de Chambure (1400m) at Chantilly.
First and third at his first two starts, the Pia and Joakim Brandt trained colt did best in a tight three way finish to win by a short head.
Tiego the First was purchased for €170,000 from the Arqana Deauville October Yearling Sale by SARL Meridian International / Ross Doyle and is the best of two winners from stakes-placed Siyouni mare Kotama.
He is the seventh stakes-winner worldwide for Blue Point, who has sired five Australian winners from his first SH crop and returns at a fee of $44,000.
