Impressive Win for $1.4 Million Filly

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 9
The most expensive filly offered at the 2016 Magic Millions Yearling Sale was a blue-blooded daughter of Pierro from the royal family of Redoute's Choice.

Trained by Kris Lees and sporting the Coolmore navy blue, Notting Hill was a close and unlucky third when making her debut on New Year's Eve, but quickly made amends at her second outing with a facile victory.

Dispatched to Kempsey for the 1250 metre maiden, Notting Hill was a class above, striding away down the running to win by three lengths as a hot favourite.

She continues a phenomenal winning run for her sire Pierro and is his 29thwinner this season.

Consigned for sale by Coolmore, Notting Hill made $1.4 million at the Magic Millions and is a half-sister to Group III winner Precious Lorraine and stakes-winner Lucky Raquie from Monsoon Wedding, a Group II placed sibling to Group I stars Redoute's Choice, Platinum Scissors and Manhattan Rain.

She is the ninth winner for Monsoon Wedding, who made $2.3 million at the Teeley Assets Dispersal in 2014 when bought by Coolmore.

Monsoon Wedding was exported to Ireland in 2015 and produced a Galileo colt in 2016.

This fabulous family just keeps adding new chapters of success with Fastnet Rock filly Shoals winning the Group I VRC Myer Classic in the spring and exciting young sire Rubick set to sparkle in the sale ring this year with his first progeny on show.
