Chinny Boom Leads home at Spirit Of Boom Quinella in Helen Coughlan Stakes

Mark Smith - Saturday June 1

The locals went home happy when Chinny Boom led home a Spirit Of Boom quinella in the Magic Millions Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes at Eagle Farm.

Ridden by Justin Stanley for Clinton Taylor, Chinny Boom earned a maiden stakes success by three and a half lengths from Bezique, with the More Than Ready mare Bubble Rock a length back in third.

The 4-year-old daughter of Spirit Of Boom had been a model of consistency before pulling up with the thumps when unplaced at her most recent start in the Listed Bright Shadow stakes at Doomben.

“That is one for the battlers. The XXXX will flow long into the night,” an excited Clinton Taylor said.

“Last start she was in the wrong part of the track and a good horse like Tiger Shark that came out of that race.

“She was a bit thumpy. Justin was adamant to stick on with her. Her work here the other day - a big thank you to Ceejay Graham, who comes here to ride her. Ceejay has been adamant that her work has been up to this, and we came here quietly confident that she can race really well.

“To my good mate, Juddo (Stanley), we’re really good friends and for her to win like that for that owner, too, that is the stakes race we’ve been chasing for about three years and we’ve finally got it. Let’s enjoy it.

"He (Stanley) is my man. We got 100 winners not long ago, and that one is probably one of our most special ones.”

Passed in short of her $50,000 reserve when consigned by Eureka Stud to the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, Chinny Boom advances her record to nine wins, two seconds, and two thirds from 16 starts with earnings of $678,050.

A homebred for Mark Pascoe, Chinny Boom is the best of seven winners from nine to race for the winning Made Of Gold (USA) mare Imanoremiss.

Chinny Boom passed in short of her $50,000 reserve at MM March Yearling Sale

Clinton Taylor Racing purchased a sister to Chinny Boom for $240,000 from the Eureka Stud draft at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale.

After missing in 2022, Imanoremiss revisited Spirit Of Boom last spring.

Chinny Boom is the 27th stakes-winner for Eureka Stud’s flagship stallion, Spirit Of Boom.
