Interest Point Wins the Battle of the Blue Points

The Dexion Victoria Hcp at Caulfield proved a battle royal between two sons of Blue Point (IRE), Interest Point and Blue Renegade, with Interest Point emerging victorious to keep his record a perfect two for two.

Ridden by Jamie Mott for David Brideoake and Matt Jenkins, Interest Point settled one out, one back behind the leader, Earth God.

Switched three wide rounding the home turn, Interest Point quickly levelled up but found a willing opponent in the rallying Blue Renegade, who was edged out by a short head.

It was four lengths back to the Written Tycoon colt Earth God in third.

Bred and part-owned by David Brideoake, Interest Point made a winning debut at Mornington on May 13.

uo;He was brave. The way he travelled up was exciting, but the runner-up gave a real good kick,” Jenkins said.

 

“He is getting better with racing. He is an easy-going colt, and we will see how he pulls up before deciding where we should go.”

A half-brother to Group II MRC Sandown Guineas winner Allibor (All Too Hard), Interest Point is the sixth winner from as many to race for stakes-winner Exchange Rate mare Libor Lady (USA).

From the family of Exclusive Native, Libor Lady (USA) has a yearling brother to Interest Point and was covered by Doubtland last spring.
