New 2YO Stakes-Winner for Too Darn Hot

Tara Madgwick - Thursday May 16

With his service fee pushed to $110,000 in Australia this spring, Darley shuttler Too Darn Hot (GB) was on the board overnight with the first stakes-winner from his second crop in the Northern Hemisphere with promising filly Hot Darling taking out the Listed Prix des Reves d’Or Jacques Bouchara (1000m) at Vichy in France.

Trained by Amy Murphy and ridden by Mickael Barzalona, Hot Darling won on debut last month at Chantilly and scored a half length win.

Hot Darling was a saleyard gift!

A modest 25,000 guinea purchase for from the Tattersalls October Book 3 Yearling Sale for Rodrigo Goncalves, she was withdrawn from the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale.

Hot Darling is the second winner from stakes-placed Helmet mare Boater, who is interestingly a half-sister to the dam of last weekend’s Group I Longchamp Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner Metropolitan, who is by another son of Dubawi in Zarak.

Hot Darling is the eighth stakes-winner for Too Darn Hot, who is currently leading the Australian First Season Sire List by winners and earnings.
