Blueblood Filly Wins for Peachester Lodge

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 15

Graham and Linda Huddy of Peachester Lodge are the biggest and most passionate sponsors of the Thoroughbred Sport Horse National Titles show at Stonewall Equestrian next week and their colours were in the winner’s circle at Randwick on Wednesday carried by blueblood filly Wild Gypsy.

Trained by Annabel Neasham, Wild Gypsy showed good promise with a debut second at Kembla last month and while the heavy conditions were hardly ideal for the daughter of American Pharoah (USA), she gave plenty under pressure for Jason Collett.

Wild Gypsy was tenacious to the line to score a narrow win in the 1400m maiden over her stablemates Vivezza and Jawharat Dubai to give Annabel Neasham the trifecta.

“I think it’s the first time I’ve had a trifecta! She’s a well bred filly we have always had a good opinion of, so it’s great for Peachester, Linda and Graham have been good supporters of mine and I think she’s a filly that can go on with it,”  said Neasham.

Wild Gypsy was a $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Peachester Lodge.

Wild Gypsy was a $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Peachester Lodge from the Kia Ora Stud draft and is a half-sister to Group I winning and $2.6million earning sprinter Wild Ruler and full sister to Group IIII winner Pavitra, who was also twice Group I placed.

She is the fourth winner from five foals to race out of imported Group II winner Gypsy Robin (USA), whose yearling filly by Golden Slipper winner Farnan made $725,000 at Inglis Easter this year when knocked down to Ladbrokes Racing Club / Newgate Bloodstock.

This is a very progressive family holding the promise of upside in the future with Gypsy Robin producing another filly by Wild Ruler’s sire Snitzel last year and she has an unraced two year-old Snitzel filly called Sakanta.
