Boom Sire Heads Them All

With six winners from 14 runners, Eureka Stud's freshman sire Spirit of Boom has more Australian two year-old winners than any other sire in the country and that's quite an achievement given we are still in December.

He has one more than Not a Single Doubt, three more than Exceed and Excel and Hinchinbrook and four more than high profile sires Choisir, I Am Invincible, Snitzel, Pierro and Fastnet Rock.



It's heady stuff for a sire that stands at $11,000 and does draw parallels with I Am Invincible, who also starts his career at the same fee and has achieved resounding success.

Like I Am Invincible, Spirit of Boom gave notice of things to come at the sales of 2017 when his progeny sold above expectation.

Spirit of Boom had six yearlings average $120,00 in Book One at Magic Millions in 2017 putting him third on the most profitable sires list below.




The most expensive of those yearlings at $210,000 was Outback Barbie, who became his second stakes-winner last Saturday when taking out the BRC Calaway Gal Stakes, just minutes after his son Ef Troop won the BRC Phelan Ready Stakes.
